“The humanity we all share is more important than the mental illnesses we may not.” - Elyn R. Saks

Nearly one in five U.S. adults lives with a mental illness — the most prevalent of which include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and schizophrenia, among others. However, mental illness takes many forms and affects an individual’s ability to relate to others and function in daily life.

Consequently, suicide is the tenth leading cause of death in the U.S., accounting for nearly 50,000 deaths each year, and the second leading cause of death among people ages 15-24.

Understanding mental health issues, identifying warning signs, and seeking proper intervention methods are important ways to take part in suicide prevention, help others in crisis, and change the conversation around mental illness.

Our Mental Wellness Fund aims to provide informational resources, back peer support groups, and expand preventative intervention efforts to help individuals cope with mental illness and get the help they need.

Your Impact:

  • Provide peer support services designed to promote skills for managing mental health symptoms, as well as developing a network of information and support from others with similar experiences

  • Support suicide prevention programs in order to raise awareness of available resources and save lives
